MagFone suits owners of a locked device who need a screen passcode, Screen Time or MDM restriction removed; those are the jobs the compiled reports rate highest. Check the iOS version limits before paying for the iCloud Activation Lock tool. Every tool has a free compatibility trial and a 30-day refund on yearly and lifetime plans.
How we made this estimate
We did not test MagFone ourselves, so this is a compiled score rather than a hands-on one. It pools eight sources read between 10 and 11 October 2026: Trustpilot's verified reviews of magfone.com, three named software test reports, two feature-by-feature comparisons, and MagFone's own product pages, purchase pages, free-licence page and refund policy. We also pulled every price on this page straight from the seven purchase pages on the same dates.
One thing worth knowing about this category: several of the most-read MagFone “reviews” are published by companies that sell competing tools, and they close by recommending their own product. We have named them where we use them, and weighted the verified-buyer ratings and the independent sites more heavily.
What MagFone actually sells
MagFone is a software company selling seven separate desktop utilities for phone problems, each bought on its own rather than as a suite. Everything runs from a Windows PC or a Mac with the phone plugged in; there is no app and no cloud service.
Four of the seven deal with locks. iPhone Unlocker removes screen passcodes, Face ID and Touch ID locks, an Apple ID, an MDM profile, a Screen Time passcode and an iTunes backup password. Android Unlocker handles PIN and pattern locks plus Google FRP. Activation Unlocker is the separate product for iCloud Activation Lock.
The other three are repair and transfer tools. iPhone Data Recovery pulls deleted data back off an iPhone or iPad, iOS System Recovery fixes what MagFone's purchase page describes as more than 150 iOS system errors without data loss, and Chats Transfer moves WhatsApp and other chat histories between devices.
Then there is Location Changer, which sets the GPS position your phone reports at system level. It is the odd one out commercially, because it is the cheapest thing MagFone sells and the one with the clearest hobbyist audience: location-based games, region-locked apps, and developers testing geofenced features.
The company says little about itself. Its About Us page describes a team of software, data and IT specialists but names no founding date, no headquarters and no legal entity; support runs through one email address, [email protected], with no published phone number.
What owners and testers agree on
The sources line up well on one point: the quick, non-destructive jobs are the ones MagFone does reliably. Screen Time passcode removal and MDM profile removal come back in every test report as fast and clean, finishing in minutes with the device's data intact.
They also agree the software is easy to drive. SoftoGeek's Ian Stephens called the interface suitable for non-technical users and ranked it first in his unlockers category. Trustpilot's praise clusters on the same thing, along with quick support replies and help moving a licence to a new computer.
| Source | Verdict | Read |
|---|---|---|
| SoftoGeek (Ian Stephens) | 9.1/10 expert score; ranked first among unlockers | Published January 2025 |
| The High Tech Society | 8.0/10, “Great”; good for passcode and Screen Time work on devices you own | October 2026 |
| Trustpilot (verified buyers) | 4.2/5 from 55 reviews; 85% five-star, 15% one-star | October 2026 |
| Dr.Buho (publishes a rival unlocker) | Tested all five iPhone Unlocker jobs; passcode, Apple ID, Screen Time and MDM succeeded, then recommended its own tool | October 2026 |
| MobiKin (publishes a rival GPS tool) | Rates Location Changer among the stronger iOS options for route simulation | October 2026 |
| MagFone purchase and refund pages | 30-day money-back on yearly and lifetime; 5 days on monthly | 11 October 2026 |
The Trustpilot spread is worth reading as well as the average. The 4.2 score comes from a sharply split distribution rather than a cluster in the middle, and MagFone has replied to every negative review on the profile, which it claimed in April 2024.
Where the sources disagree
They part company on the harder jobs. SoftoGeek puts MagFone top of its category outright; The High Tech Society scores it 8.0 but says the iCloud bypass alone does not justify the purchase; Dr.Buho ran the same five jobs successfully and still pointed readers at its own cheaper tool.
Speed is the other split. Trustpilot buyers describe fast unlocks, while two of the test sites found it slower than rival tools, mostly because a firmware image of up to 5GB downloads before the work starts. Both can be true: the download dominates the clock on a slow connection.
On success rates, nobody claims certainty. The High Tech Society recorded 3 to 5 minutes for Screen Time, 10 to 15 for a screen passcode and 8 to 30 for an Apple ID, and reported failures on some owner-locked handsets. Dr.Buho's tester told readers not to be disheartened if a device does not come back.
What each plan charges
MagFone prices every tool separately, and every purchase page shows a discounted price against a higher list price. These are the prices on the seven purchase pages as of 11 October 2026. A licence covers one computer; the Win + Mac bundle covers two.
| Tool | Cheapest entry | Lifetime, 1 PC | Lifetime Win + Mac |
|---|---|---|---|
| iPhone Unlocker | $49.95 yearly (list $99.95) | $59.95 (list $129.95) | $71.95 (list $259.90) |
| Android Unlocker | $39.95 yearly (list $89.95) | $59.95 (list $139.95) | $71.95 (list $259.90) |
| Activation Unlocker | $39.95 yearly (list $89.95) | Bundle only | $71.95 (list $259.90) |
| Location Changer | $9.95 monthly (list $24.95) | $89.95 (list $179.95) | $107.95 (list $359.90) |
| Chats Transfer | $19.95 monthly (list $49.95) | $49.95 (list $99.95) | $69.95 (list $199.90) |
| iPhone Data Recovery | $49.95 yearly (list $159.95) | $69.95 (list $189.95) | $89.95 (list $239.90) |
| iOS System Recovery | $19.95 monthly (list $49.95) | $69.95 (list $139.95) | $83.95 (list $239.90) |
Two patterns fall out of that table. The Bundles tab is where the real markdowns live: an iPhone Unlocker lifetime bundle at $71.95 is only $12 more than the single-computer lifetime licence at $59.95, and covers a Mac as well. And Location Changer is the only tool with a quarterly option, at $19.95.
Against the category, the lifetime pricing is competitive rather than cheap. Tenorshare's 4uKey lifetime licence lists at $49.95 and iMobie's AnyUnlock lifetime plans run from $35.99 to $59.99, so MagFone's $59.95 sits at the top of that band, with lifetime free upgrades included. That last part matters in this category, because the tools have to keep pace with each new iOS release; MagFone's iPhone Unlocker page currently claims iOS 27 support.
What works well and what to check
What works well
- Screen Time and MDM removal are the standout jobs, finishing in 3 to 5 minutes with device data intact, according to every test report we read.
- Verified buyers rate it 4.2/5 across 55 Trustpilot reviews, with 85% at five stars, and MagFone has answered every negative review on the profile.
- One iPhone Unlocker licence covers five different removal jobs, so you are not buying a separate product per lock type.
- Lifetime licences include free software upgrades for good, which keeps the tool current as new iOS versions ship.
- Yearly and lifetime purchases carry a 30-day money-back guarantee, and MagFone's policy commits to processing refund requests within 24 hours on business days.
- Every tool has a free trial that tells you whether your device is supported before you pay.
What to know before you buy
- Check your iOS version first if the iCloud Activation Lock is your problem: the Activation Unlocker covers iOS 12.0 to 16.7.5 and needs a jailbreak step, which several test sites found the fiddliest part of the range.
- Screen passcode and Apple ID removal wipe the device. Back it up first if the phone is still reachable; multiple test reports flag this as the detail buyers are most often surprised by.
- Pick the plan length deliberately. Monthly licences get a 5-day refund window, not 30, per MagFone's refund policy.
- A single licence covers one computer and five devices (ten on Location Changer). If you work across a PC and a Mac, the Win + Mac bundle is the one to price.
- The free trial confirms device support and shows what the software can do; the removal itself needs a paid licence. MagFone's purchase pages compare the two side by side.
- Allow for the firmware download. Test sites measured images up to 5GB before the job starts, which is what accounts for most of the wait.
Who MagFone fits
It fits best if you own a device you cannot get into and the lock is a screen passcode, a Screen Time restriction or an MDM profile left behind by a school or employer. Those are the jobs the evidence supports most strongly, and the $59.95 lifetime licence is reasonable for a job you may face again.
It also fits anyone who wants system-level GPS control on a desktop, where $9.95 for a month is the cheapest way to try the idea without committing.
An alternative may fit better in two cases. If your device is carrier-locked rather than passcode-locked, SoftoGeek notes MagFone has no SIM-lock removal, so that is a different product entirely. And if the device is on a recent iOS with an iCloud Activation Lock, the honest answer across every source is that no tool in this category can promise a result, so the free trial and the refund window are the parts to lean on.
Other tools worth comparing
Tenorshare 4uKey is the closest like-for-like on iPhone locks, at a listed $49.95 lifetime covering passcode, Apple ID, Screen Time and MDM. Compare it if price is the deciding factor and you only need the iOS lock jobs.
iMobie AnyUnlock runs from $35.99 to $59.99 lifetime and packs in more side features. Compare it if you want one toolkit covering several jobs, and accept a busier interface for it.
Wondershare Dr.Fone Screen Unlock is the one to look at if SIM-lock removal is on your list, which the MagFone range does not cover.
MagFone FAQ
Is MagFone safe to use?
The software itself comes back clean in the independent reviews we read, and the Trustpilot profile is claimed and actively answered by the company. The real risk is not malware but outcome: the job may not succeed on your particular device and iOS version, which is what the free compatibility trial and the 30-day refund on yearly and lifetime plans exist to cover.
Does MagFone remove iCloud Activation Lock?
Sometimes, within narrow limits. The Activation Unlocker covers iOS 12.0 to 16.7.5 on specific models and involves a jailbreak step. If your device runs anything newer, this is not the tool for it, and no product in this category can promise a result.
Will MagFone erase my data?
It depends on the job. Screen Time passcode, MDM and iTunes backup password removal are reported as non-destructive. Screen passcode and Apple ID removal erase the device, so back it up first if you still have access.
How much does MagFone cost?
It varies by tool. The cheapest entry is Location Changer at $9.95 for a month; iPhone Unlocker is $49.95 yearly or $59.95 for a lifetime licence; the most expensive single purchase is the Location Changer Win + Mac lifetime bundle at $107.95. Every price above was taken from MagFone's own purchase pages on 11 October 2026.
Can I get MagFone for free?
Partly. The trial is free but only confirms device support. MagFone also runs a free-licence page offering a yearly licence to anyone who publishes a 500-word review that stays live for a year, and a monthly licence for a review posted on a consumer platform and emailed in to support.
Does MagFone give refunds?
Yes, on stated grounds. Yearly and lifetime licences carry a 30-day window, monthly licences 5 days, and the policy lists what qualifies: the wrong product bought and corrected, a double charge, or a technical fault support cannot fix in time. Changing your mind is not on the list, so use the trial before you pay.
Bottom line
Our compiled estimate is 7.9/10, and we hold it with moderate confidence: the sources agree closely on the quick non-destructive jobs and the ease of use, and less closely on speed and on the hardest locks. We have not tested it ourselves.
Buy it for the job it is clearly good at, which is getting back into a device you own, and treat the compatibility trial as the real decision point. MagFone's own purchase pages carry year-round markdowns on every tool, with the deepest sitewide offer appearing during its seasonal sales, so it is worth checking the Bundles tab before you pick a plan.
