Broderft is a real store, not a vanishing one, but its Trustpilot score sits at 2.1 out of 5 across 116 reviews. Its own refund page allows a 20% variation from the product photos and offers replacements instead of refunds. The embroidered sweatshirts are the only line with consistent praise.
Compiled on 4 October 2026 from four source types: Broderft's Trustpilot profile, where we read the published distribution plus roughly 35 individual dated reviews from January to October 2026; the store's own refund, shipping, FAQ, About and Contact pages; a full crawl of its product feed the same day, for prices and catalogue size; and a named local newspaper report on its registered address. We did not order from Broderft ourselves, so every claim about a delivered item is attributed to the buyer who reported it.
Is Broderft legit or a scam?
Legit, and trading normally. Broderft is operated by Joyfulprints Inc. and runs a live storefront we crawled on 4 October 2026: 5,281 listings, 25,959 variants, and only three variants out of stock.
The problem is not fraud. It is accuracy. Broderft's Trustpilot profile stands at 2.1 out of 5 across 116 reviews, with 70% at one star and 21% at five.
Weighting that distribution gives 2.03, which matches the published 2.1. The score is not being dragged down by a cluster of outliers; that is the shape of the whole pool. Broderft has claimed the profile and is not replying to the negative reviews.
One structural detail is worth knowing: the company address on every Broderft policy page is 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, Wyoming. The Sheridan Press reported in April 2026 that the building houses several commercial registered-agent firms, a legal and common arrangement in Wyoming. Treat it as a filing address rather than evidence of a US workshop.
What Broderft actually sells
The About page describes a custom embroidery house: the name is explained as Broder, for artisanal craftsmanship, plus FT for gift. The catalogue is far broader than that.
Across 5,281 listings the store uses 310 distinct product types. The largest are Game Day apparel at 898 listings, an America 250 range at 249, Pillows at 196, and two separate Christmas sweatshirt lines at 181 and 180.
Items the store itself tags as embroidered number 390, or about 7% of the catalogue. The rest is a general gift assortment: gnome and garden stakes, acrylic plaques, flower boxes, whiskey glasses, LED cowboy boots, heated robes and holiday light projectors.
Prices run from $9.99 to $1,099.95, with a median variant price of $39.99. The embroidery-tagged items sit higher, from $24.99 to $65.95 at a $44.99 median, and they are the line that attracts the store's good reviews.
The catalogue is also moving fast. The oldest listings date to August 2024, but 1,010 of the 5,281 were created in September 2026 alone, roughly a fifth of the store in one month.
What the discounts are really worth
Broderft runs two things at once: a sitewide percentage code in the announcement bar, which rotates with the season, and a Mix & Match ladder that gives 10% off two items and 25% off five, applied in the cart without a code.
The ladder is the better deal and the only one we would plan a basket around. Shipping is free over $59 and $7.99 below it, so a five-item bundle clears the threshold and takes the deepest tier at the same time.
What the store does not do is mark things down. Of 25,959 variants in our crawl, 328 carried a strike-through price, about 1.3% of the catalogue, at a median 21% off. The headline price you see is almost always the real price.
What buyers keep reporting
One complaint dominates and it is not slow shipping. It is that the delivered object does not look like the photograph.
Customers writing in June and July 2026 describe personalised garden gnomes that “look nothing like the photos”, a gnome that “bears no resemblance to my friend”, a set of engraved glasses that turned out to be “small plain glasses with stickers”, and basketball pillows called “cheap and flimsy, nothing like the plush embroidered ones in the photos”.
Sizing is the second theme. One buyer reported a stated 24 by 29 inch item arriving at 19 by 26 inches. Another reported a unisex XL shirt that “fits more like a medium”.
The third theme is what happens next. Buyers report being offered 15% or 20% of the purchase price rather than a refund, one reported a £5 compensation offer, and one reported that expedited shipping paid for was not refunded after the order took a month.

The refund rule that decides everything
Read one page before you order anything from Broderft, and make it the refund policy. It is unusually explicit and it explains most of the one-star reviews.
Three clauses matter. Custom orders “cannot be returned or exchanged due to their personalized nature”, and where the store has made an error it will send a replacement rather than money back, because “we do not offer refunds in this case”. The page then states it outright: “we do not have policies for refund”.
The fourth clause is the one buyers run into. The policy says “there may be a 20% variation between the advertised images and the actual product you receive”, attributing it to photography lighting and monitor differences.
That clause is written as a colour disclaimer. Buyers report it being applied to their complaints more broadly, including one who was told a 20% error margin covered an item that arrived several inches smaller than the listed dimensions.
The FAQ page reads differently. It offers returns within 30 days of delivery at the buyer's postage cost, and a replacement or partial refund for damage reported within 30 days. It also lists “custom made or special order items” as non-returnable, which is most of what the store sells.
Two pages, two positions. On the catalogue's personalised majority, the refund policy is the one that governs, and it is a replacement policy.
How long delivery really takes
Longer than most US gift sites, and the store's own two pages do not agree on the total.
The shipping information page says orders normally arrive in 10 to 30 business days. The separate shipping policy page says 10 to 20. Both break it down the same way: 1 to 3 days of design, 2 to 7 days of production, then 7 to 20 business days in transit.
Standard shipping is free over $59 and $7.99 below it. Expedited shipping is $16.99 per order and still takes 5 to 15 business days, so it buys a few days rather than a few days' certainty.
The country lists differ too. The shipping information page lists 38 destinations including Japan, South Korea, Brazil, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, while the shipping policy page names 14. Check your own country on both pages before ordering from outside the US.
Against that, several happy customers reported two weeks door to door, and one described delivery as “as I was informed it would be”. The stated window is wide rather than dishonest. The planning problem is that a 30-business-day worst case is six calendar weeks, which makes Broderft unusable for a dated occasion.
Why some orders go fine
The 21% of five-star reviews are not noise, and they cluster. Almost all of them are apparel.
Customers praising Broderft describe sweatshirts as “sturdy material” with “the detail and all specifications perfect”, “good material, true to size”, and fabric that “washes and dries to perfection”. The most recent positive reviews on the profile were filed in the first days of October 2026, so this is not a historical pattern that has since collapsed.
The one-star mass sits on the other half of the catalogue: gnomes, stakes, acrylic items, glassware, flower boxes and novelty objects. Printing a name on a sweatshirt is a repeatable manufacturing step. Making a three-dimensional object resemble a specific person from an uploaded photo is not, and that is where the gap between the listing image and the parcel opens up.
That split is why a blanket “scam” label is wrong here, and why a blanket recommendation would be worse.
What works and what does not
Strengths
- Embroidered apparel is the line customers consistently praise, naming sturdy fabric, accurate personalisation and true-to-size fit.
- Genuine entry prices: items from $9.99 and a $39.99 median across 25,959 variants.
- The Mix & Match ladder is automatic, needs no code, and reaches 25% off at five items.
- Free standard shipping over $59, documented on the store's own shipping page.
Weaknesses
- 2.1 out of 5 on Trustpilot, with 70% of 116 reviews at one star and no replies to them.
- The refund policy states plainly that there is no refund policy on personalised items; replacement is the remedy.
- A written 20% permitted variation from the advertised images, which buyers report being quoted when an item arrives wrong.
- Up to 30 business days stated end to end, and expedited shipping still takes 5 to 15 business days.
- Orders cannot be cancelled or corrected once processing starts.
- Several buyers report partial-settlement offers of 15% to 20% of what they paid instead of a refund.
Who should buy from Broderft
Buy if you want an embroidered sweatshirt, hoodie or cap with a name or a college on it, you are ordering six or more weeks before you need it, and you are happy to treat the spend as non-refundable.
Buy if you are assembling five low-cost items for the 25% tier and the recipient is not expecting a specific likeness.
Skip it if the gift is a personalised three-dimensional object, especially anything meant to resemble a particular person or pet. That is the category almost every one-star review is about.
Skip it if the gift is dated, if you need a refund rather than a replacement to be possible, or if the order is large enough that losing the money would matter.
Better options for personalised gifts
Etsy is the stronger choice for a personalised object. Each seller carries their own review history and order count, so you judge the individual maker rather than a 5,000-listing storefront, and the platform sits between you and the seller when an item arrives wrong.
Zazzle and Shutterfly are the established US alternatives for personalised print and apparel. Read their return terms for customised items before ordering, because that clause is what separates them from Broderft.
A local embroidery or trophy shop is worth a call for anything with a deadline. Turnaround is usually days rather than weeks, and seeing a proof first is normal practice.
Broderft FAQs
Is Broderft a legit website?
Yes. Broderft is a live store operated by Joyfulprints Inc. with a working catalogue of 5,281 listings and a published support address. Orders do arrive, and 21% of its 116 Trustpilot customers rate it five stars. The criticism in the 70% at one star is about accuracy, delivery time and refusal to refund.
How long does Broderft take to deliver?
Broderft's shipping information page states 10 to 30 business days in total: 1 to 3 days of design, 2 to 7 days of production and 7 to 20 business days in transit. Its separate shipping policy page states 10 to 20 business days. Expedited shipping costs $16.99 and still takes 5 to 15 business days.
Can you get a refund from Broderft?
Not on a personalised item, by the store's own terms. The refund policy states that custom orders cannot be returned or exchanged, that a replacement is sent where the store made an error, and that “we do not have policies for refund”. The FAQ page separately offers 30-day returns at the buyer's postage cost, but excludes custom-made items.
Why does my Broderft order look different from the photo?
The store's refund policy permits it. The page states there may be a 20% variation between the advertised images and the product you receive, attributing it to photography lighting and monitor differences. Multiple customers report being quoted that margin when a delivered item did not match the listing.
Where is Broderft based?
Its policy pages list Joyfulprints Inc. at 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, Wyoming. The Sheridan Press reported in April 2026 that the building houses several commercial registered-agent firms, so this is a company filing address rather than a production site. The store does not publish a manufacturing location.
Does Broderft offer free shipping?
Yes, on standard delivery for orders over $59. Below that, standard shipping is $7.99. The free threshold does not change the delivery window, which stays at 7 to 20 business days in transit.
Bottom line
Broderft is a real retailer with a genuine catalogue and a refund policy that tells you, in writing, that it does not refund personalised orders and allows a 20% variation from its own photographs. The 2.1 out of 5 on Trustpilot is what that combination produces.
One defensible purchase remains: embroidered apparel, ordered six weeks early, treated as money you cannot get back. Confidence in that narrow call is moderate, resting on where the store's positive reviews cluster. Confidence in avoiding its personalised objects is high.
If you order anyway, photograph everything and keep the listing page.
