Wolfbox suits you if you want a 4K mirror dash cam with a live rear view and a long warranty, and your car has a factory mirror the unit can sit over. Named expert tests rate the picture highly. Fit is the one thing to check before you order.
Compiled from nine source groups between July 2025 and October 2026. We did not test any Wolfbox product ourselves. The mix is named expert tests (TechRadar, Pocket-lint), a Car and Driver verdict the brand quotes on its own deals page, specialist dash-cam test sites, verified-buyer ratings on Trustpilot and Amazon, the merchant's product, warranty, refund and deals pages, a company press release, and UK dash-cam group tests from Auto Express and Parkers for rival pricing. Every price below was read from the UK store or checked in its cart on 10 October 2026.
What Wolfbox actually sells
Wolfbox is an automotive electronics brand founded in 2019. Its head office is in Hangzhou, China, with research and operations centres in Shenzhen and Denver. A company release in October 2025 put its reach at close to 90 markets and more than 800,000 units shipped.
Mirror dash cams are the core line. They sit over the factory rear-view mirror and put a 10in or 12in touchscreen where the glass used to be, with a front camera behind the screen and a rear camera wired to the back of the car. The rear feed doubles as a reversing camera, which is the real reason people choose this shape over a windscreen unit.
The current UK range climbs from the M40 (4K front, 10in screen, lane and collision alerts) through the G840S, G840H and G850, up to the G900Pro with its 12MP Sony STARVIS 2 IMX678 sensor, and then the three-channel G900TriPro in cabin and bumper versions. The bumper model swaps the cabin camera for a front-bumper lens that shows ground clearance.
The catalogue runs wider than cameras. There are three-channel recorders that mount conventionally (the i07 and the X5 mini), MegaVolt16 jump starters, MegaFlow tyre inflators and automatic deflators, MF-series electric air dusters, and 3W all-weather floor liners cut for right-hand-drive Teslas. The UK store is a Shopify storefront that prices in pounds and states that customs and duties are included.
Where the expert tests agree
The consensus across named sources is narrow and consistent: the cameras take a good picture, the big screen is genuinely useful, and the price only makes sense during a sale. Here is the spread.
| Source | What it looked at | Verdict |
|---|---|---|
| TechRadar (Alistair Charlton, July 2025) | G900 Pro | “Clever, but it's not perfect.” Excellent 4K video, a bright and responsive display, and a rear camera that works as a reversing camera |
| Pocket-lint | G900 Pro | 4 out of 5. Credits the STARVIS 2 sensor in low light, the split-screen 12in display and voice control |
| Car and Driver, as quoted on Wolfbox's deals page | Mirror dash cams | “Unmatched image quality, fantastic display, and built-in dash-cam functionality” |
| Specialist dash-cam test sites | G840S | 4.25 out of 5. Sharp 4K front footage, a 12in mirror roughly 1.5 times the standard glass, supercapacitor build, 32GB card and GPS antenna in the box |
| Trustpilot (wolfbox.com) | Brand-wide | 4.4 out of 5 from 128 ratings, 76% of them five-star |
| Amazon UK listing | G840S | 4.4 out of 5 across roughly 14,300 ratings |
Two points repeat often enough to treat as settled. The first is night footage: both TechRadar and Pocket-lint single out the Sony STARVIS 2 sensor for holding detail against oncoming headlights, which is the condition most dash cams fail. The second is the screen, which multiple customers describe as the feature they would not give up once they had lived with it.
Where the sources pull apart
The 12in screen splits opinion. Pocket-lint calls it obtrusive in cars with smaller factory mirrors, and TechRadar's central reservation is that the G900 Pro is not suitable for every vehicle, with positioning and a separate GPS cable both adding work at install. Specialist sites add that the mirror surface can catch glare and that there is no automatic brightness adjustment.
Buyer ratings also sit differently depending on the pool. Trustpilot's 128 ratings cluster at the two ends, with 76% at five stars and 18% at one; the five-star reviews repeatedly credit support with free replacement units, while the one-star reviews describe hardware that failed early and slow replies. Amazon's much larger pool for the G840S averages the same 4.4 but without that shape, which is what you would expect when thousands of ordinary purchases are counted rather than a few hundred people motivated to write.
What you pay in the UK right now
Wolfbox runs its anniversary promotion as an automatic cart discount rather than a set of marked-down prices, so the listed price is not the price you pay. We checked each of these in the UK cart on 10 October 2026.
| Model | Listed | At the cart |
|---|---|---|
| M40 4K 10in ADAS mirror dash cam | £169.99 | £119.00 |
| X5 three-channel mini dash camera | £277.99 | £194.60 |
| G900Pro 12MP smart mirror (Basic) | £323.99 | £226.80 |
| G900TriPro Bumper three-channel | £405.99 | £264.31 |
| MegaVolt16 3000A jump starter | £123.99 | £86.80 |
| MegaFlow24 portable tyre inflator | £94.99 | £66.50 |
Elsewhere in the catalogue the markdowns are on the ticket rather than at the cart. The MF100 electric air duster is listed at £59.99 against a £119.99 regular price, the i07 three-channel recorder at £209.99 from £263.99, and a nine-piece right-hand-drive Tesla Model Y liner set at £169.99 from £219.99. Small parts go lower still: the 12in anti-glare film is £5.99 from £15.99, and the circular polarising lens for the G840S, G850, G900 and G840H is £19.99 from £25.99.
UK delivery is free over £25, and the store's deals page carries a 30-day price guarantee promising to refund the difference if you find a lower price inside that window.
Set against that, the UK mirror-class rivals priced in recent group tests from Auto Express and Parkers look expensive. The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH sits around £289.95 and the Nextbase 622GW Elite package around £299, with the Nextbase iQ closer to £444.50. A G900Pro at £226.80 or an M40 at £119.00 undercuts all three, which is the strongest argument for buying Wolfbox during a sale and the weakest argument for buying one outside of it.
What to know before you buy
What works well
- Named expert tests at TechRadar and Pocket-lint both rate the 4K front footage and the STARVIS 2 sensor's low-light performance highly
- The rear camera doubles as a reversing camera, so one install covers two jobs
- Dash cams carry 24 months of cover plus a further 6 on registration, and the 3W floor mats carry a lifetime warranty
- Verified buyers on Trustpilot repeatedly credit support with replacing failed units free of charge
- Specialist test sites note the G840S arrives with the rear camera, GPS antenna and a 32GB card included
- Cart prices during the sale land well under comparable Viofo and Nextbase packages sold in the UK
What to know before you buy
- Measure your factory mirror and check sun-visor clearance first: TechRadar's main finding was that fit depends on the car
- Parking monitoring on the mirror models needs the hardwire kit, which is sold separately
- The G900 Pro's GPS module is a separate cable, so plan the routing before you start
- Customers report glare on the mirror surface in bright sun, and there is no automatic brightness setting
- Accessories sit outside the automatic sale, and only one discount code applies per order
- The refund page asks you to return using the label Wolfbox supplies and excludes shipping fees from refunds, and it does not print a return window, so confirm yours with support before ordering
Who the range suits best
The best fit is a driver who wants a dash cam and a better rear view in one device, has a reasonably large factory mirror to mount over, and is buying while the anniversary discount is live. Taxi, ride-hail and van drivers get the most from the three-channel G900TriPro, where a cabin or bumper lens earns its place. Anyone running a right-hand-drive Tesla also gets a tidy accessories path through the 3W liner sets.
A windscreen-mounted camera may suit you better in three cases: a small factory mirror, a visor that fouls the unit when folded down, or a preference for the smallest possible device in the cabin. The same is true if parking surveillance is the main reason you are buying, since that needs the extra hardwire kit either way and a conventional camera makes the wiring simpler.
Better picks for some drivers
- Viofo A229 Pro 2CH, around £289.95. Prefer it if footage quality is the only thing you care about. UK group tests rate its video as the best they have seen from a dash cam, and it records at 60fps.
- Nextbase 622GW Elite, around £299. Prefer it for the UK support and accessory ecosystem, and because the Elite package bundles a 256GB card.
- Nextbase iQ, around £444.50. Prefer it if you want connected features and live monitoring rather than a mirror replacement, and the higher price is acceptable.
- Wolfbox is a 2019-founded automotive electronics brand selling mirror dash cams, jump starters, inflators and air dusters, with a dedicated UK store that includes customs and duties.
- Named expert tests agree on the picture: 4K front footage and the Sony STARVIS 2 sensor handle night driving well.
- The anniversary discount applies by itself at the cart, which is why listed prices look higher than what you pay.
- Fit is the deciding factor. Check your mirror size and visor clearance before you order.
- Dash cams are covered for 24 months, extended to 30 when you register the purchase.
Is Wolfbox a good dash cam brand?
On the evidence, yes, for mirror-style cameras in particular. It holds 4.4 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 128 ratings and the same 4.4 across roughly 14,300 Amazon UK ratings on the G840S, Pocket-lint scored the G900 Pro 4 out of 5, and Car and Driver's verdict quoted on the brand's deals page praises image quality and the display.
Who makes Wolfbox dash cams?
Wolfbox itself. The company was founded in 2019 and is headquartered in Hangzhou, China, with research and operations centres in Shenzhen and Denver. A company release in October 2025 stated it had shipped more than 800,000 units into close to 90 markets.
Does Wolfbox ship to the UK, and are there import charges?
Yes, through its own UK store. Delivery is free on orders over £25, and the store states that customs and duties taxes are included in the price you see, so there is no separate charge on arrival.
How long is the Wolfbox warranty?
Dash cams get 24 months plus a 6-month extension, so 30 months in total. The warranty policy sets different terms per category: 18+6 months on air dusters, 24+6 on tyre inflators and jump starters, 36+6 on car fridges, 42+6 on EV chargers, and a lifetime warranty on floor mats. Buying from the UK store includes the extension automatically; buying elsewhere means registering through the warranty form to claim it.
Do Wolfbox mirror dash cams fit every car?
No, and this is the point worth checking hardest. TechRadar's test of the G900 Pro found the 12in unit awkward in some vehicles, and Pocket-lint noted the same display can overwhelm a smaller factory mirror. Measure your mirror, and fold the sun visor down to see whether it would touch the screen.
Do you need a hardwire kit for Wolfbox parking mode?
Yes. Both Pocket-lint and specialist dash-cam sites note that the 24-hour parking monitoring feature needs the hardwire kit, which is a separate purchase and wires the camera into a fuse box rather than the 12V socket.
Can you return a Wolfbox dash cam?
Returns are accepted, with conditions. The refund policy asks you to use the shipping label Wolfbox provides, excludes shipping fees from refunds, and does not cover items damaged through improper use. The page does not state a return window, so ask support to confirm yours before you order.
Bottom line
Our compiled estimate is 8.0 out of 10, and we hold it with reasonable confidence: six independent source groups, one hands-on test we did not run ourselves, and prices checked in the live UK cart. Wolfbox makes a genuinely good mirror dash cam, the night footage is the part the expert tests keep praising, and the 30-month cover on dash cams is longer than most of the category offers.
Buy it if your mirror can take the unit and you are buying while the discount is live, because a G900Pro at £226.80 against £289 Viofo and £299 Nextbase packages is a straightforward win. Measure first, budget for the hardwire kit if you want parking surveillance, and add your accessories to the same basket before you check out.
