Verdict Good fit for Brazil-based sites

UOL Host is the hosting arm of UOL, with its own Sao Paulo data centre, cPanel plans from single-digit reais a month on annual billing, and round-the-clock support in Portuguese. It fits sites whose visitors and admins are in Brazil. Compare elsewhere if you need English support or servers in other regions.

A compiled estimate rather than a hands-on score. It fuses WebsitePlanet's 4.5/5, an 8.4/10 Reclame Aqui reputation score, two Brazilian plan-comparison reviews and the published specifications.
How we made this estimate

We have not used UOL Host ourselves, so nothing here is written as first-hand experience. This estimate is compiled from seven named sources read in October 2026: one international expert review (WebsitePlanet), two Brazilian plan-comparison reviews (Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites and Kompare), two Brazilian host directories, the Reclame Aqui consumer-resolution record, and the company history on Wikipedia.

Every price, allowance and policy below is attributed to the source that published it. Where sources disagree, we say so rather than picking the flattering number. All prices are in Brazilian reais.

What UOL Host actually sells

UOL Host is the hosting and cloud division of Universo Online, the company behind Brazil's UOL portal. It was founded in Sao Paulo in 2008 and grew by acquisition, buying Plug In, SouthTech, Digiweb and CreativeHOST in its first two years, then Insite, then the country's fourth-largest host, in 2009, according to Wikipedia. The practical upshot is that this is an incumbent with telecoms-scale infrastructure behind it.

The catalogue is wider than most shared hosts offer. Shared cPanel hosting, a WordPress-specific tier, cloud instances, Linux and Windows reseller accounts, domain registration, professional email, an online-store builder and email marketing all sit under one account.

Three things hold across every shared plan in the sources we read: SSD or NVMe storage, a free SSL certificate and unlimited data transfer. Plans also carry a 99.8% availability guarantee, and both the control panel and live support run in Portuguese.

What you really pay per month

The table below lists the cPanel tiers as published by the Brazilian comparison site Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites, on the annual billing cycle. That cycle is where the advertised headline prices come from.

PlanAnnual-cycle priceSitesStorageMailboxesFree domain, year one
PR$9.90/mo210 GB30.online
MR$34.99/moUnlimited30 GB60.com.br
GR$44.99/moUnlimited50 GB160.com.br

Monthly billing costs considerably more. The same entry plan is listed at R$26.90 a month when paid monthly, and the directory WHTop records a free first month on the P plan before that rate starts. WebsitePlanet puts the annual discount on the basic plan at 50%.

Outside shared hosting, the WordPress tier starts at R$12.90 a month on annual billing with a domain included for the first year. Cloud instances start at R$58.90 a month for 512 MB of RAM, one vCPU and 50 GB of storage, and scale to 32 GB of RAM, 16 vCPUs and 500 GB.

Email and store products are priced on their own. Professional email runs from R$5.99 for a single 12 GB mailbox to R$29.99 for thirty, and the online-store builder starts at R$29.90 for the first month and R$39.99 after that. A .com.br domain is listed at R$49.90 a year here, against R$40.00 direct from Registro.br, the national registry.

Why the entry price varies

Quoted starting prices for UOL Host run from R$9.90 to R$29.90 a month across the sources we read, and the allowances differ as well. The spread is easy to explain, and worth understanding before you compare this host with any other.

Three variables move the number: the billing cycle, since annual rates are roughly half the monthly ones; the plan generation a source happened to capture; and whether the figure quoted is a first-cycle promotional rate or the ongoing one.

Storage shows the same effect. Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites lists 10 GB on the entry plan, while Kompare lists a newer NVMe line-up with 30 GB on an entry PP tier at R$23.41 a month billed monthly, and 270 GB on the M plan. Read the cart total and the stated renewal rate on the exact plan you select.

Will it work outside Brazil?

This is the biggest fit question, and the answer is clear enough to act on. The servers are in Brazil: Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites lists Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre and Houston, and WebsitePlanet records Brazil-only hosting for shared accounts.

Live technical support is Portuguese only. WebsitePlanet states that customers outside Latin America may find the service hard to use, and the control panel interface is Portuguese too.

Payment is local in the same way. WHTop lists cards and PayPal alongside boleto bancario, the Brazilian bank slip. For a site whose traffic is Brazilian, in-country servers are a real advantage; for a global audience, a host with several regions is the better comparison.

How fast is it, in measured terms

One source gives figures rather than adjectives. Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites measured a 34-millisecond server response time and a 3.8-second page load on a test WordPress installation, which placed it faster than 49% of the sites that site has tested.

Those two numbers are best read together. The server answers quickly from inside Brazil, while the WordPress load time is mid-table, which usually points at the stack above the server rather than the network path.

The published guarantee is 99.8% availability, which allows roughly 17 hours of downtime across a year. The company has also promoted 100% uptime across two consecutive Black Fridays in Brazil, a claim reported by WebsitePlanet.

What the support record shows

The contact options are broad for the price. Kompare lists chat, ticket, telephone and WhatsApp around the clock, and Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites puts phone cover at Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 6pm.

The most useful figure is a public one. On Reclame Aqui, Brazil's consumer-resolution platform, UOL Host holds the RA1000 seal with a score of 8.4/10 over the previous six months, drawn from 784 cases: 99.7% answered, 91.1% resolved, and 71% of those customers saying they would buy again.

WebsitePlanet notes that some customer reports mention slow support responses and service interruptions. Both can be true at once, a strong resolution rate and a queue that sometimes runs long, so if response speed is critical to you, test the chat queue before you migrate a live site.

What works well

  • Its own Sao Paulo data centre, an eight-storey building opened in 2010 with capacity for more than 30,000 servers, which the company describes as the largest hosting infrastructure in Latin America.
  • A measured 34-millisecond server response from inside Brazil (Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites).
  • The RA1000 seal on Reclame Aqui, with 91.1% of 784 cases resolved and 99.7% answered.
  • One account and one invoice covers hosting, domains, email, reseller and cloud.
  • Free SSL, unlimited data transfer and a domain included for the first year on annual plans.
  • WebsitePlanet rates it 4.5/5 and ranks it 274th out of 3,859 hosts it has reviewed.

What to know before you buy

  • The headline price is the annual-cycle rate. Confirm the monthly and renewal figures in the cart before you pay.
  • Live support and the control panel are in Portuguese, so plan for that if your team does not read it.
  • Shared servers sit in Brazil, so check latency for any audience outside South America.
  • None of the comparison pages we read publishes a money-back window. WHTop notes that refunds follow Brazilian consumer rules and the specific product terms, so read the contract.
  • A .com.br domain is R$49.90 a year here against R$40.00 at Registro.br, so price the domain separately if that gap matters to you.
  • Storage allowances differ between the older SSD plans and the newer NVMe line-up. Check which generation the plan in your cart belongs to.

Who UOL Host suits

A good fit if:

  • Your visitors and the people administering the site are both in Brazil.
  • You want hosting, email and a domain on one invoice, billed in reais.
  • You value a provider with a public, auditable consumer-resolution record.
  • You need boleto bancario as a payment option.

Worth comparing alternatives if:

  • Your audience is global, or concentrated in Europe or North America.
  • Your team needs technical support in English.
  • You want a published money-back window before you commit to a year.
  • WordPress load time is the number you are optimising above all others.

Alternatives worth pricing up

Locaweb

The other large Brazilian incumbent, with the same local-infrastructure argument. Compare it on the renewal rate, the storage allowance and which control panel you prefer.

Hostinger

Worth a look when you want the lowest annual rate and the option of regions beyond Brazil. Compare the Brazilian region availability and what the price becomes at renewal.

HostGator Brasil

A familiar cPanel option in this market. Compare it specifically on the published refund window, since that is the detail UOL Host's comparison pages leave unstated.

How much does UOL Host hosting cost per month?

Shared cPanel plans are listed from R$9.90 a month on the annual cycle, rising to R$34.99 for the M plan and R$44.99 for the G plan, per Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites. Billed monthly, the entry plan is listed at R$26.90.

Is UOL Host good for WordPress?

It sells a dedicated WordPress tier from R$12.90 a month on annual billing with a domain for the first year, and the shared plans include a WordPress installer. On measured performance, one Brazilian test recorded a 3.8-second load time on a test WordPress install, faster than 49% of the sites that reviewer has tested.

Does UOL Host include a free domain?

On annual plans, yes for the first year. Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites lists a .online domain on the entry P plan and a .com.br domain on the M and G plans. After year one, a .com.br is listed at R$49.90 a year.

Where are UOL Host's servers located?

In Brazil for shared hosting. Tudo Sobre Hospedagem de Sites lists Sao Paulo, Porto Alegre and Houston, and the company runs its own Sao Paulo data centre, opened in 2010 with capacity for more than 30,000 servers.

Does UOL Host offer support in English?

Live technical support runs in Portuguese. WebsitePlanet records email, telephone and live chat available around the clock, and notes that customers outside Latin America may find the service harder to use for that reason.

Does UOL Host have a money-back guarantee?

No marketing money-back window appears on the comparison pages we read. WHTop notes that refunds are handled under Brazilian consumer rules and the terms of the specific product, so the contract is the place to check before you pay for a year.

Bottom line

For a site that lives in Brazil, UOL Host is a reasonable default: in-country servers, a 34-millisecond response time, round-the-clock Portuguese support and a consumer-resolution record you can look up yourself. Our compiled estimate is 8.4/10, and we hold it with moderate confidence, since it rests on named third-party sources rather than our own testing.

The one number to pin down yourself is the renewal rate on the plan you choose, because the advertised figure is the annual-cycle price. Confirm that, read the refund terms, and the rest of the decision is straightforward.
