Emma's mattresses rate well with Mexican buyers: 4.4 to 4.8 out of 5 across thousands of Amazon México ratings, and two Mexican test sites measured the Original sleeping about 2°C cooler than its closest rival. The 100-night free return carries most of the risk, so order with your delivery date in mind.
We did not sleep on these mattresses. This is compiled from seven named sources checked between 18 September and 2 November 2026: Emma's own Mexican product, policy and offers pages; its Amazon México listings; two Mexican test sites that bought and measured the mattresses; the Trustpilot profile for emma-colchon.com.mx; El Universal's offers desk; and Emma Sleep's published company record.
Every price, rating and policy below was read at its source on 1 and 2 November 2026. Where the sources disagree, we say who says what instead of averaging the difference away.
What Emma sells in Mexico
Emma is a German company, founded in Frankfurt in 2013 by Dennis Schmoltzi and Manuel Mueller and now part of the Haniel group. It trades in 33 countries, says it has shipped more than eight million mattresses, and lists over 78 quality awards, including a Red Dot design award in 2024.
The Mexican arm operates as Emma Colchón from an office on Avenida Chapultepec in Roma Norte, Mexico City, with support on [email protected]. Mattresses arrive compressed in a box, and Liverpool department stores carry the range if you want to lie on one first.
Four mattresses anchor the catalogue. The Emma Original is four layers of memory foam, 23 cm tall, at a medium firmness. The Hybrid Deluxe Cooling and AirGrid Elite Cooling are 27 cm hybrids built on bagged coils, both medium-soft, with the AirGrid adding the brand's ventilated grid layer. Hybrid Premium and Comfort fill the middle of the range, and the catalogue extends to metal and upholstered bed frames, Elite Foam and Diamond pillows, and mattress-plus-pillow combos.
What the buyer ratings add up to
Wherever Mexican customers rate the product itself, Emma lands in the mid to high fours out of five, and the samples are large enough to carry weight.
| Source | Score or verdict | Sample | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon México, Original (matrimonial) | 4.6 / 5 | 2,262 ratings | 1 Nov 2026 |
| Amazon México, AirGrid Elite | 4.7 / 5 | 1,540 ratings | 1 Nov 2026 |
| Amazon México, Hybrid Premium | 4.6 / 5 | 645 ratings | 1 Nov 2026 |
| Amazon México, Comfort | 4.4 / 5 | 624 ratings | 1 Nov 2026 |
| Emma's own product page, Original | 4.8 / 5 | 81 ratings | 2 Nov 2026 |
| ColchonLab, bought and measured | 8.0 / 10 | 1 model tested | updated 7 Oct 2026 |
| DuermeBien, bought and measured | Recommended; Hybrid rated best in its price segment | 2 models tested | 2026 |
| Trustpilot, emma-colchon.com.mx | 1.6 / 5 | 40 reviews | 2 Nov 2026 |
The two Mexican test sites that bought and measured the mattresses agree on where the strength lies. ColchonLab recorded the Original's surface running 1.8°C cooler than a Luuna Original at two in the morning and scored it 8.0 out of 10. DuermeBien put the gap at one to two degrees and called the Hybrid the best mattress in the $13,000 to $16,000 segment in Mexico.
Both also agree on fit. They place the Original with side sleepers roughly between 50 and 80 kg, rate partner motion isolation well, and point heavier sleepers towards the hybrids.
Why the ratings disagree
One source sits well apart from the rest. The Trustpilot profile for emma-colchon.com.mx shows 1.6 out of 5, with 88 per cent of its 40 reviews at one star. Delivery timing, support response and how long refunds take are the recurring themes, and the company has not replied to them.
The two kinds of score measure different things. The Amazon México and own-site figures are thousands of buyers rating a mattress they slept on. The Trustpilot profile is 40 customers rating the buying experience, on a platform people most often reach for after something has gone wrong, and a sample that size moves on a handful of entries.
Read together they point to one practical conclusion. The mattress has a broad, consistent track record; the order and delivery leg is the part worth planning around. That is also the part the free-returns policy and the 100-night window exist to cover.
What you will actually pay
These are the prices on Emma's own Mexican category pages, read on 2 November 2026, during an autumn flash sale the brand advertises at up to 65 per cent off. All figures are MXN.
| Product | List price | Sale price |
|---|---|---|
| Emma Original (foam, 23 cm) | $16,999.00 | $6,459.62 |
| Hybrid Deluxe Cooling (hybrid, 27 cm) | $23,999.00 | $9,119.62 |
| AirGrid Elite Cooling (hybrid, 27 cm) | $30,999.00 | $11,779.62 |
| Combo Hybrid Premium (mattress, 2 pillows) | $25,599.00 | $9,471.63 |
| Combo Deluxe Cooling (mattress, 2 adjustable pillows) | $31,599.00 | $9,479.70 |
| Elite Foam pillow | $3,800.00 | $1,520.00 |
| Metal bed frame | $18,399.00 | $5,519.70 |
Two things change that arithmetic. Selected products marked for an extra reduction take a further cut when the current sitewide code is applied in the cart, and subscribing to the newsletter releases an additional discount at checkout. The combos are often the better arithmetic: the Hybrid Premium set lands close to the price of the mattress alone.
Payment spreads further than most Mexican mattress brands allow. Mercado Pago carries up to 12 interest-free months with no minimum spend, Mercado Crédito offers up to three without a card at all, and Emma's banking page lists up to $5,500 of Santander cashback on purchases at six interest-free months. Shipping and returns are free across Mexico.
For context on where the sale sits against the wider market, DuermeBien quotes the Original at $7,999 to $10,999 across channels and the Hybrid at $12,999 to $15,999, and ColchonLab paid $7,040 for a matrimonial Original. Worth checking the price for the size you actually want in the cart before you decide.
How the 100-night trial works
The trial starts the day the mattress reaches your home, not the day you order it. Emma's trial page states that you can return it within the 100 nights whether it is still boxed or already unrolled, that collection is arranged for you, and that the refund is for the full amount.
Returns cost nothing, and the brand asks you to open the process by email to [email protected]. The 10-year warranty runs separately and covers manufacturing defects.
One useful detail from ColchonLab's test: the foam took about 72 hours to reach full height. Sleeping on it the first night is fine, but judge firmness after a few days, and give yourself the 30 days Emma itself suggests a body needs to adapt before making the call.
What works well and what to check
What works well
- Sleeps cooler than comparable foam. Both Mexican test sites measured the Original one to two degrees below a Luuna Original overnight, ColchonLab at 1.8°C.
- Large-sample buyer ratings hold up: 4.4 to 4.8 out of 5 across more than 5,000 Amazon México ratings on four models.
- The trial is unusually open. Returns are accepted in or out of the box for 100 nights, with collection and refund handled free.
- Payment spreads a long way: up to 12 interest-free months via Mercado Pago with no minimum, or three without a card via Mercado Crédito.
- You can try before buying. Liverpool carries Emma in store, which few bed-in-a-box brands in Mexico offer.
- Motion transfer is well controlled. DuermeBien rates partner isolation highly and ColchonLab calls it competent.
What to know before you buy
- Leave a buffer on the delivery date. The product page quotes one to seven working days; customer accounts on Trustpilot describe longer waits, so avoid ordering against a fixed deadline.
- Keep the email thread. Customers report email as the channel that moves, so write to [email protected] and keep a record.
- Check the price for your size in the cart. The headline percentages are quoted against list price, and combos and single mattresses are reduced on different terms.
- Compare against Luuna first. DuermeBien puts Emma 15 to 25 per cent above comparable Luuna models and ranks Luuna first in its Mexican brand table.
- Consider a hybrid over the all-foam Original above roughly 85 kg. Both Mexican test sites suggest heavier sleepers look at the coil models, and DuermeBien notes the Original's edge support is modest.
- Allow about 72 hours for full expansion before you judge the firmness.
Who Emma suits best
A good fit if you are:
- A side sleeper between roughly 50 and 80 kg who sleeps hot.
- Sharing a bed and sensitive to a partner moving.
- Spreading the cost over interest-free months rather than paying once.
- Buying a mattress unseen and want a long at-home trial with a free return.
Another brand may fit better if you are:
- Working to a tight budget, where Nooz starts far lower.
- Heavier than about 85 kg, or you want firm edge support from an all-foam bed.
- Needing the mattress by a fixed date, where a shop you can carry it out of is the safer route.
- Chasing the lowest price for similar foam, where Luuna undercuts Emma.
Three alternatives worth pricing
Luuna
Prefer it if price leads the decision. DuermeBien ranks Luuna first among Mexican mattress brands and quotes the Original at $6,899 to $7,999, which it puts 15 to 25 per cent under comparable Emma models. Emma's measured advantage is temperature.
Nooz
Prefer it on a tight budget. Nooz Essential starts around $2,919, which DuermeBien places 40 to 60 per cent below Luuna. Expect less of the cooling engineering that the Emma tests pick up.
Spring Air
Prefer it if you want a traditional sprung mattress from a long-established retail name, third in DuermeBien's Mexican ranking, and you would rather buy it in a shop than from a box.
Emma mattress questions, answered
Is Emma a Mexican brand?
No. Emma is German, founded in Frankfurt in 2013 and now part of the Haniel group, trading in 33 countries. The Mexican operation runs as Emma Colchón from an office in Roma Norte, Mexico City, and also sells through Amazon México and Liverpool stores.
How long does Emma take to deliver in Mexico?
The product pages quote free delivery in one to seven working days. Customer accounts on Trustpilot describe longer waits in some cases, so if you need the bed by a particular date, order with time to spare and keep the carrier confirmation.
Can I return an Emma mattress after I have unrolled it?
Yes. Emma's policy says the mattress can be returned during the 100 nights whether it is inside the box or out of it, that the brand arranges collection, and that the refund covers the full amount. Returns are free, and you start the process by email.
Does Emma offer meses sin intereses?
Yes. Mercado Pago carries three, six, nine or 12 interest-free months with no minimum purchase. Mercado Crédito allows up to three months without a card, subject to approval, and Emma's banking page lists up to $5,500 of Santander cashback at six interest-free months.
Which Emma mattress is best if I sleep hot?
The 27 cm hybrids are built for it: the AirGrid Elite Cooling adds a ventilated grid layer and the Hybrid Deluxe Cooling a temperature-regulating construction. Even the all-foam Original measured 1.8°C cooler overnight than a Luuna Original in ColchonLab's test.
Can I try an Emma mattress in a shop before buying?
Yes. Liverpool department stores across Mexico carry the range, which lets you judge firmness in person before ordering online. DuermeBien treats this as one of Emma's practical advantages over box-only rivals.
Bottom line
On the evidence we can check, Emma's mattresses earn their standing in Mexico: four models rating 4.4 to 4.8 out of 5 across more than 5,000 buyer ratings, and two independent Mexican tests agreeing they sleep cooler than the obvious alternative. Our 7.8 holds that strength alongside a thinner record on delivery and after-sales.
Confidence is moderate. The product evidence is broad and consistent; the service evidence rests on a 40-review sample. If you can stay flexible on the delivery date, the 100-night free return makes this a low-risk mattress to try, and the autumn sale still prices the range at more than 60 per cent below list.
