What is The Baconer?

The Baconer, a craft bacon business based in Berkeley, California. They’re exclusively focused on one product: bacon, forging a unique West-Coast style characterized by responsible sourcing, chef-driven flavors, and hard to find cuts.

Where does their meat come from?

They source pork belly from a variety of family farms in California, Oregon, Montana and Iowa. Each of the farms they work with follow some critical guidelines.

What different cuts they offer?
  • Bacon Steaks – XXL thick 1/2″ cut.
  • Thick Cut Strips
  • Hand Cut Lardons – 3/8″ matchstick cut.
How long will the bacon lasts?

Bacon can be kept refrigerated up to 30 days before needing to be frozen, and can be kept frozen up to 6 months.

How to defrost bacon?

To defrost, transfer to the refrigerator overnight, or if rapid thawing is needed, rest the package in cool water for 15-20 mins. Previously opened packages can be refrigerated or frozen in zip top storage bags.

Can I re-freeze the bacon?

Yes. Bacon is very tolerant of refreezing without any damage to the quality.
